‘Summer in Bloom’ at ARTE MUSEUM LAS VEGAS

If you’re looking for an interesting indoor experience on The Strip, then Arte Museum Las Vegas may offer just the thing with their ‘Summer In Bloom’ limited engagement.

Last weekend we were invited to experience ‘Summer in Bloom,’ so here’s what to expect if you want to check it out before it leaves the museum.

Essential Note: Locals get a $10 discount on tickets!

Note from the event organizers: Guests who visit Saturdays in July 2024 from 2 to 6 pm will experience the surprises and delights of “Summer in Bloom,” a limited engagement featuring an array of enchanting activities, such as live music and exclusive gifts designed to evoke the spirit of the season.

Probably the most important thing to know about this attraction is that your tickets have a timed entry and if you arrive early the waiting area is outside. Possibly in the sun, depending on the time of day and where you are in the line.

For our visit, there was a woman working the door with major angry-hall-monitor vibes who insisted that everyone waiting to go inside stand up against the glass railing and only against the railing.

No outside food or drink is allowed inside, except for bottles with caps. The inside is air-conditioned, but it was warmer inside than expected.

This exhibit is also MUCH darker than expected, and we have visited similar art installations that were not this dark. We mention this because the walls are mirrors and it is quite easy to get disoriented (and some of those corners looked decidedly sharp).

When we were there, employees were walking through the exhibit gifting attendees with light-up roses and light-up flower crowns, but they somehow skipped right over us.

Also, only one gallery has benches – The Garden, which features the 35-minute light show – so you might want to keep that in mind if you’re visiting with someone with mobility issues or are prone to foot cramps on hard floors.

You will find seating in the tea cafe area. But, of course, you can only sit there if your ticket includes tea or you’re making a purchase on the spot. (It’s a couple of bucks cheaper to buy the ticket with the tea included instead of paying in the cafe). And we definitely recommend getting the tea for three reasons –

  1. The tea was good (especially the strawberry).
  2. There’s live music in the cafe (violin when we were there).
  3. The tea is part of the art. Where you sit your glass on the table, the art follows. Which, honestly, was wicked cool.

Just note, all the available drinks are sweet. Though, they did offer alt milks for one of them. (The strawberry tea was whole milk only, which was probably why it was so sinfully delicious.)

When you exit, there is also an employee handing out iced sugar cookies that say ARTE MUSEUM.

As far as the logistics go, along with your locals’ discount, if you park across the street at the Cosmopolitan you’ll get up to three hours of free parking with your NV driver’s license. From there, just go up to the second level (above the casino floor) and use the pedestrian bridge to get to Arte Museum Las Vegas.

Overall, we spent around 70 minutes inside, so just over an hour, but the museum website (and employees on-site) advise it will take you around 90 minutes to get through all of the exhibits.
